VIM Editor Guide
Introduction
VIM is an editor for Linux systems. It is a powerful tool to edit files directly from the command shell.
Although VIM is a confusing program for new users, it makes the editing of configuration files a lot easier.
VIM can be useful to edit a configuration file from the command line. This command line is often easier to access. Whether it's remotely using ssh, a temporary root session using su -, or a Linux rescue disk; configuration files can be modified directly using VIM.
Knowing how to work with an editor like VIM solves the feeling of being challenged in configuring advanced applications, like an Apache Web server. VIM can also be a great tool for writing software code.
